We’ve designed it to feed positive societal impact both digitally and in real-world exchanges. We negate the perils typical of social platforms, appending merit by crafting algorithms focused on uplifting, unbiased dialogues. Moreover, through the nurturing guidance of Shahtiqua , our AI assistant, users receive information endowing comprehensive understanding of Black history, today’s events, and a vision for the future. Shahtiqua assists in elevating discourse into spirited, explorations of diverse Black American thought.
In tune with winds of change, our polling and voting facilities provide members a conduit for democratic action. Grounded in data, cooperation, and shared wisdom, these features empower collective endeavors, epitomizing participatory democracy—an ideal advocated by luminaries like Ella Baker. Her vision of self-governed communities now materializes within these digital walls, where each voice strengthens our shared narrative.
We are excited to announce the development of a Newbeings 1619 Lexicon and an engaging curriculum, currently titled “Our Common Knowledge.” This initiative aims to foster collective understanding by highlighting 10 essential nonfiction books and selected blogs that promote awareness and comprehension of pivotal concepts. Our intent is not to dictate thought but to create a shared foundation that enhances communication, minimizes misunderstandings, and encourages constructive dialogue and effective actions among our users.
