A Welcome to Newbeings 1619

State the mission clearly
Newbeings 1619 exists to advance Black Americans through learning, personal renewal, cultural creation, cooperation, and institution building. Part of our mission is to educate the world about Black American Accelerated Ethnogenesis, our interpretation of how a distinct peoplehood formed under the pressures of enslavement and through our ancestors’ own cultural and collective work.
We support Decolonization, Deconstruction, De-Traumatization, and Detoxing, collectively called DeCol-DeTraum. We connect this work with decorum, sound judgment, enterprise, and chosen personal and collective improvement.
Our learning resources explain history and ideas. Our cultural creations offer ways to express identity and intention. Our community resources support cooperation. Our research and foresight work examine choices and possible futures. Together, these resources serve our ambition to build lasting prosperity, security, and unity.

Preserve class appeal with its intended meaning
Newbeings 1619 pursues class appeal as opposed to mass appeal. The class we appeal to consists of people who engage in DeCol-DeTraum, conduct themselves with decorum, and choose personal and collective improvement. We value meaningful participation more than membership numbers or speed of growth.
Class here describes commitment and conduct. It does not rank people by wealth, credentials, or social status. The participation invitation explains the actual access requirements; this expression of our appeal does not create an unstated new requirement.
Make the meaning clear to a new reader
Begin with the mission: Newbeings 1619 connects Black American historical understanding, personal and collective improvement, cultural expression, and practical cooperation. Our aim includes educating the world about Black American Accelerated Ethnogenesis.
When a term is unfamiliar, its first explanation gives the ordinary meaning before the fuller discussion. Ethnogenesis means a peoplehood forming over time. A scenario describes what could happen under stated assumptions. A proposed system describes work intended or being developed. A fictional teaching model helps explore ideas.
An example makes the distinction concrete: imagining a thriving neighborhood can guide today’s planning. It does not establish that the neighborhood already exists or that the plan will certainly succeed.

Learn, contribute, and help build lasting prosperity, security, and unity. Newbeings 1619. We innovate, or we dissipate.
