Black American Heritage Flag:
Created in 1967 by Melvin Charles and Gleason T. Jackson, the Black American Heritage Flag emerged during the civil rights era to provide Black Americans with a symbol of pride akin to those of other groups.
The flag features diagonal red and black stripes with a gold-colored fig wreath and a blunted sword at its center. The blunted sword represents pride and the transition from conflict to cultivation, while the fig wreath symbolizes peace, prosperity, and eternal life. Red signifies the blood shed for freedom and justice, and black represents pride in Black identity. See Image Below
