@king_matthew001 🇨🇳🇺🇸 Rare Earth Minerals have recently found itself at the center of the China-U.S. rivalry after Trump launched a new round of high tariffs on China, prompting China to immediately put the U.S. on export control for Rare Earths. Rare Earths are an essential ingredient to advanced military technology as well as renewable energy, and China’s 90% control on its Refining means the U.S. has few other ways to obtain the finished goods despite having access to the raw materials. China’s Rare Earth chokehold on the U.S. is what has so far kept the peace between the two superpowers, since the U.S. could never sustain a war of attrition against an opponent that controls its high-tech supply chain.
